The Bill of Rights is the common name for the first ten amendments in the U.S. The Bill of Rights is something that every Citizen has to follow and understand. The Bill Of Rights was inspired by Jefferson and written by James Madison in September 17, 1787. These amendments were made in December 15, 1791 which is now part of the constitution. Ten of the amendments were confirmed and the other two were still unconfirmed . I will be speaking of the 8th amendment which means prohibiting the federal government from imposing cruel and unusual punishment. This amendment means to protect the citizens from the government giving them too hard of penalties for the crime and also the punishment has to fit the crime. One thing that many people don 't agree and strongly think shouldn 't exist anymore is the death penalty.The death penalty is the “punishment of execution, administered to someone legally convicted of a capital crime”. These people believe that every person should be given one more chance before being sentenced to the death penalty..Regardless,people believe the death penalty should not exist because there are other punishments that can be taken place.
