Some still question whether one person has the right to speak for many, even though the benefits of this outweigh the negatives. As previously stated, one person recounting their endeavor can give others the confidence they require in order to speak out about what they had went through. This can also encourage a person to seek the help that they desperately need. Another added benefit of one person speaking for many is it gives people who are too scared to speak out a voice. It also shed light on the dangers of silence and what happens when one does not question what is going on around them. After the disaster at Chernobyl, the Ukraine learned how important telling the truth was. After the accident, the authorities had not alerted people for three days, which put thousands at risk.
