Epilogue- 1. A closing section of a novel or play. 2. A short speech or poem to the audience by one of actors of a play. 1. The book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling portrays an epilogue at the end of the novel. The epilogue explains where all of the main characters are 12 years after the battle of hogwarts. 2. The play MacBeth by William Shakespeare illustrates an epilogue in a play. MacDuff exhibits the epilogue with his stanza “What wicked premonition is this, a king fathered by Banquo.
