The U.S is the world's second largest exporter behind only China. Exporting goods is extremely important to the growth of the United States economy. The U.S is also the world leader in importing goods and services. The average U.S citizen consumes much more goods and services than the average citizen of almost any country in the world. If the U.S does not switch to the metric system there is a high risk that the United States could suffer in terms of international trade because of other countries.
