These are advantages of joining the workplace after the completion of high school because young adults are able to earn money at a faster rate and this allows them to create the immediate future they want for themselves. These advantages also allow young adults to see the financial benefit of their hard work within a shorter amount of time, which increases their self-esteem and makes them feel accomplished. Although individuals who choose the workplace right out of high school are usually trained and hired for smaller and more tedious jobs, they are able to increase their responsibility eventually through moving up the system as they gain more experience. If a student decides to pursue a post-secondary degree, it is inevitable that they will end up in debt therefore they will be spending the first few years of their careering working to pay off their debt. Another unfortunate factor, which is linked to post-secondary education, is the lack of work experience after graduation. Since many students decide to focus their energy on school without a job, their work experience on a resume may be lacking in comparison to someone who has been in the workplace four years prior to them. Although this seems like a disadvantage, it can also be seen as an advantages because there are many students who volunteer or intern with individuals within their given career path, therefore allowing them to have experience in their chosen career rather than experience in a career they may not wish to
