My introduction to Electronic music in general was in 2008 when I heard the track Cinema by Benny Benassi. After hearing that song it sparked my curiosity to find music like the track I heard. Eventually, years later I found House Music. For me this genre has shaped my mind and allowed it to be more open to ideas and life in general. House music was so different from the things that I had been listening to, when I realized how different it was and how the music made me feel, I delved deeper into the genre finding more and more House tracks. House in itself is so simple and bare, that it relieves itself from too materialistic or shallow, it separates itself in the way that people can create House tracks. In general House tracks are longer than your usual song that is on the radio, while the average song on the radio is three-and-a-half minutes, a significant population of House songs are six minutes or longer going as long as I have seen thirteen minutes. I take pride in my fascination with House music, because pop music can be too formulated, and other forms of electronic music like, dubstep or trap, are only followed by people who like it just because it is the ‘in thing’. With House music one is forced to listen to the little details and gradual build of a song, all House song create of suspense of how the song is going to set itself apart from the other. For me one of the most significant things about the genre is the unity. Unity in music is so esoteric, House music doesn’t create cliques, it brings everyone together in my opinion in a way no other genre
