There are five main air pollutants, each is created from different activities and each poses a problem to human health. The first is nitrogen dioxide. Air pollution causes a bigger problem on some countries than others. China is one of the countries that is strongly affected by air pollution. Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong are examples of areas in China affected air pollution. These towns have high amounts of smog and as a result the population is put at risk. These areas are at risk because the amount of concentration exceeds WHO guidelines. Exceeding these guidelines results in posing risks to the cardiovascular system and the cerebrovascular system. If China had met the guidelines in 2012, there would be differences in the four cities mentioned earlier. For example, the number of premature deaths would have decreased by 81%. Air pollution should not be treated as a minor problem, and since it is, people are taking action. There is more of a stress on the importance of public outreach and education.
