With the two men taking up Alice’s time she patiently listens to their poem and talks to them for a long while. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum are a part of the reason that Alice meets some more people that are an element of the game of chess. Alice all of the sudden hears a loud sound like a steam engine, as to find the Red King snoring quite loudly in his slumber (156). The Red King is a part of the game of chess and as the Red King, he does not have to do much at first because of all the other pieces performing for him. The Red King is allowed to be asleep because he does not have to make any moves yet as the other pieces have to. Alice continues her journey forward, discovering new characters that prove that she is in the great game of chess. Alice started walking into a rather silent area where she was drowned by her thoughts when she was interrupted by the Red and the White Knights. The Knights began a fight to see who could have Alice as their prisoner, but there were, Rules of Battle that challenged the Knights. One of the rules included the Knights falling on their heads and at the end of the battle, both Knights fell on their heads side by side (196-198). …show more content…
The people she meets such as, the Red and White Queen, the Red and White Knights, the Red king and other characters, or pawns, who make the chess game real. Alice knows that she is inside a game but the characters that she meets up with are just living their everyday lives, yet inside a chess game. She began as a pawn and successfully made her way into a Queen, with bumps in the road and passing pieces in the chess game. Alice had a learning experience even just through the game. She learned how to treat others and use better manners in the Looking-glass world and the real world. Alice is grown throughout this game of chess into a young
