The American Kestrel
The american kestrel is a good looking bird with a few different color variation. This animal is biotic. It comes from the family of falcons. This is the smallest one of the species of falcons. They live in open country farmlands and wood edges. During the breeding season the kestrel may be limited to the habitats that provide appropriate nesting sites. During the winter females are more than likely found in open habitats. You most commonly find these birds in open areas perching on roadside wire with their wings ready to go pounce on a grasshopper. They …show more content…
One way is when the ecosystem is changed it can cause the birds to have no home. The american kestrels like to out in the open and if we change this to where there is no open areas there will be a big chance that there are not as many of these species as there is now. This is because if we start growing forests where there is open areas there will be nowhere for the american kestrel to perch or hunt. They also like the farmland. The reason they like the farmland is it is easier to find prey because they can hover over the fields and then swoop down to catch what they spot. Most of the time this is like field mice and rats sometimes other small animals. There are several things that can cause these changes. One way is they can start limiting the amount of open space. Another is start cutting down and limiting the amount of reproduction.Another aspect is the change in climate and the trophic level. The reason it would change if the trophic level changes that means the american kestrel would move on the trophic level. They would also move on the biosphere level. Recent national; studies are showing the the american kestrel is declining in populations in some parts of the world. They are also known to be increasing in other parts.there is a huge decline of nesting in this part of the us for some odd reason due to the fact of ecosystem. There are increasing in parts of the world such as new england and mid-atlantic states. There are many symbiotic relationships with the american kestrel. One of these relationships is mutualism. There is bacteria in your stomach which microscopic organisms live. It is mutualism because both the bird and the organism has a place to live and sleep. This is like a win win situation. The second one is predator and prey. The reason this is a relationship is because think of it this way the kestrel goes out to find something to eat. The kestrel finds worms and
