Taking into account the title of the poem, one cannot put a figure on what or who is worthless. Nevertheless, it is known that worthless is an adjective; meaning something that has no use or something with no value, therefore one can say that, whatever ideas are to follow are not pleasant or are lifeless. The speaker seems to have no hope and desolated throughout the poem because of the break up. In the first line the writer says, “I’m broken inside and can’t feel” that is expressing how devastated she is about the relationship. Sasha further enlightens depression in line 4, “My once strong heart is now deceased”. Here the writer juxtaposes life and death to emphasize the impact of her suffering caused by the break up; for something that was once alive on the contrary now dead. By citing life, unforgettable past period of pleasant times is brought forth and the reality of the suffering is made prominent with death. Although the pain is felt by the author, the effect touched the other fraction, that is; her partner and this is revealed through the phrase, “but I guess he just had enough of me”.
Once again is stanza 4 the writer alters the syntactic order of words-hyperbaton, “All I know, my best, I have tried” line 14, just to make an emphasis that she in actual fact tried to save the relationship. Again in this stanza the writer’s despair comes into light, the writer is feeling completely hopeless and seems to have admitted to being worthless.
