The key concepts of this article are the differences that students experience when transitioning from secondary to postsecondary education. It’s normal to feel a bit nervous before a test however, when it’s causing you loss of sleep, appetite or headaches, you could be suffering from test anxiety. Anxiety has three elements: mental, physical and emotional. The mental element includes negative thoughts. The physical component includes physical sensations such as dyspnea. The emotional element occurs when thoughts and physical sensation combine. This resonates with me because I am someone who does suffer a bit of test anxiety, specifically the mental element. I do find my thoughts to be filled with negativity before a test or exam and it stresses me out. A good advice given by the article is to visualize success, the more you rehearse failing a test, the chances of it happening increases. Instead, you should mentally picture yourself passing with flying colours. By taking these tips, I would be able to do better on my tests and therefore succeed
