Preface: The Public Schools of Robeson County is diverse in demographics and populations vary from school to school. The schools are primarily triracial and include White, Black, and American Indian populations. However, we do have a population of Latino families that reside in rural areas where farming is dominant and offer opportunities for employment. These programs should be uniform and consistent in meeting the needs of the students and should be revisited annually. The educational perspective of introduction to cultural values begins with family communication with interpreters and collaboration with teachers and administrators in school activities and health concerns faced by disadvantaged individuals (Abe, Turale, Klunklin & Supamanee, 2014). Such programs include festivals with foods that are native dishes to their country. The sharing of their dishes are prepared according to custom standards and the name of the dish and ingredients is written in Spanish with translations in the English language. One of the more recognizable programs is the sharing of literature and books in their native language Spanish with pictures that illustrate their ways of life. In some cultures, they begin educating children within their community at an early age with activities where children learn through songs, recognition activities of common terms including colors, days of the week, months of the year, animals, and everyday
