Annelies Marie “Anne” Frank was born June 12, 1929. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany, but later moved to Amsterdam. Adolf Hitler’s Nazis had already taken over Germany and were beginning to try to take over Amsterdam. Anne’s family went into hiding along with some other family friends. The hid in this place called the Secret Annex.…
She finds it difficult to understand why the Jews are being singled out and persecuted. Anne also confronts her own identity. Though she considers herself to be German, her German citizenship has been revoked, and though she calls Holland her home, many of the Dutch have turned against the Jews. Anne feels a tremendous solidarity with her aggrieved people, and yet at the same time she wants to be seen as an individual rather than a member of a persecuted group. Since Anne’s diary is a true personal account of a life in hiding, it is inappropriate to analyze it as a novel or other work of fiction.…
Third, after reading the diary, it is clear that it contains much more ELA content than historic content. The way Anne uses figurative language, like on page 115, when she writes “Meanwhile, we are cut off by the great dark mass, which will not let us go upwards, but which stands to us as an impenetrable wall;” which shows how well she writes. There is also the fact that there is little Holocaust or WWII content, only being in the book as periodic updates instead of the focus, which, when educating about something like history, is important. Another example of Anne’s writing, which is on page 267, when she states that “A voice sobs within me: ‘There you are, that’s what’s become of you: you’re uncharitable, you look supercilious and peevish, people dislike you and all because you won’t listen to the advice given to you by your own better half.”, which shows her advanced vocabulary and writing, which can teach children about literary systems and word usage, rather than the history of…
In her diary, Anne Frank, much like George Orwell, has a “desire to push the world in a certain direction” and to emphasize the kind of society other people should begin to strive toward. A Jewish teenager living in Holland during the Holocaust, Anne is forced into hiding and must bear witness the atrocities and anti-semitism brought forth by Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. Using a diary she received for her birthday, she recounts her life during the Holocaust and her views on the world and how they gradually change as time goes on. Anne doesn’t actively strive to change the world or society too an extreme, however she does give the reader insight on how she felt during this time in her life and how things should be different. By using repetition,…
If Anne Frank never kept a diary, we would lose a little of history. She gives such a different outlook than so many other Jews in that time. While they are worried and fretting about all that is happening. Anne just tells her thoughts as they are. She is a very real person and we would be at a loss if we lost her work of art that she called a diary.…
While as World War Ⅱ starts, Anne Frank, the author of The Diary of Anne Frank, goes into hiding because her whole family is Jewish, and being Jewish isn’t the best in that time. For both girls, they unwillingly get used to not being included in…
Anne Frank’s diary holds a lot of value, for both it’s storytelling and how it allows the reader to look back at the Holocaust through the eyes of a Jew. Despite this, Anne’s revered diary does not belong in a History class, it belongs in an English one. Anne’s diary does show us what life in hiding was like, but it should not be read for its historical value. Only 15% of the diary entries mention WWII and those that do cushion the blow that the horror of the Holocaust should strike in those learning about it. The Holocaust deserves to be remembered for what it was, which was a horrible murder of millions of innocent people.…
Being able to read Diary of Anne Frank shows the condition of children during the Holocaust is its own interest, its own moment where all human beings feel some empathy and sadness. Although some might like to be alone, everyone needs someone with whom to share life’s experiences because it’s good to have someone to talk to, it helps to build trust with other, and it is good to have someone to relieve stress. Everyone needs someone with whom to share life’s experiences because it’s good to have someone to talk to it is relevant to when Anne wakes up from her terrible nightmare and her mom tries to comfort Anne but Anne pushes her away. When her father comes to comfort her, he tells her that she should be nicer to her mother.…
Anne Frank SFQs The pain Mr. Frank feels within himself when he returns to the attic rooms reveal a central theme in “The Diary of Anne Frank: A Play.” In paragraph 6 it states, “his eye is caught by something lying on the floor. What I believe “Anne Frank's: Diary of a Young Girl” means to me is that the Diary isn't all that great, what I'm trying to prove here is that people are saying Anne Frank's Diary is wonderful book of magnificent writing and literature. Although what I insist on believing is that Anne Frank’s Diary is not all that great but not all that bad it's just a simple ordinary book to pass the time, but has a deeper meaning to the situation the characters are going through. When I read the book I thought, “This seems like an interesting book.” In addition to my claim the Diary was interesting at some entries and some specific moments but others were about what the characters were doing in the attic.…

Throughout history we have seen massacres and mass killings of people for selfish and unnecessary reasons. Growing up, I remember reading the story about Anne Frank in school. She was so young but yet was still very brave. Even in the tragedy, she some a glimpse of hope.…
