In this article high school football player Chris Altonji states “Dancing, however, passes this one. Every time I see Poms or De La Cru perform, I am extremely impressed by their flexibility and coordination. Dancers clearly have to go through strenuous practices to be able to pull off those performances. This article states that sports and dance require the same amount of dedication and strength, they are categorized in two separate social realms. The author Noel Dyck explains the work of dancers and athletes isn’t just about entertaining and competing, but “also powerful means for celebrating existing social arrangements and cultural ideas.” He feels that even though these two very similar activities are separated by many other opinions, they are all in all the same in the end. He looking into worldwide views, by comparing football to salsa and tango dancing. Dyck states that “each can be employed to articulate or rewrite national and gender identities.” Dancing isn’t just for girls, it takes a partner to tango, just as tennis has doubles with a male and female partner.
This article helped me realize that this isn’t just a topic within the state or country, it is worldwide. It also expresses that our world has separated views and once similar categories are now in completely different social activities. He helped me see what our world once was and what it has become on this topic.

The author also explains the positive impact dancing and performing has on a person’s body. It keeps weight down, increases energy levels, and is an entertaining way to workout. Athletes and dancers use their physical abilities differently, but in a way at the same intensity level.
This article will help me explain the important of a dancer’s body, for when dance pushes physical and mental abilities further than they know.

In this article the author believes that dance cannot be a sport because it doesn’t compete man to man and it is classified as a fine art. He states “Dance is a creative, expressive art form without winners and losers and not defined by crass comparisons. Many people, including myself, do a lot of dance without ever taking part in a competition.
