There should be enough personnel to move the patient around the operating room and the gurney. Placement of ESU grounding pad should be done with some special considerations at hand.…

There are gradual cases of anal stricture that blocks the stool exit and is incorrectly relieved through force by straining and pushing. However, the…
In the short story, The First Appendectomy by William A. Nolen, the author explains to the readers, even when times get tough you should not until the job is finally done. Dr. Nolen was a beginner,“After two months of my internship... I’d watched the assistant residents work… [and] made an occasional incision” (Nolen 146). Since this appendix operation would be his first ever procedure Dr. Nolen prepared enough to the point where he could retell the steps like he says his name and all the hand motions became a habit that he could perform in his sleep. Yet, his nerves overcame him when he finally started to operate.…
In this review, we enrolled 60 patients with complicated large ventral hernia due to large abdominal wall defect whom were treated by mesh repair. Crohn’s disease is defined as a “transmural inflammatory process. ”1 Crohn’s disease is one of the two forms of inflammatory bowel disease.2 Crohn’s disease most commonly affects the end of the ileum, which is the last part of the small intestine. Although, it can occur anywhere throughout the entirety of the gastrointestinal tract.1 Typically, there are areas of the gastrointestinal tract that are normal, but these segments are separated by areas of the gastrointestinal tract that have damage. Crohn’s disease cannot be cured, but it can be managed via diet and medication. Our patient, J.A., presented to the clinic with a history of Crohn’s disease.…

Other potential complications that can follow acute pyelonephritis can range from developing abscesses due to the bacteria forming pockets on the kidneys, which can be fatal if they break off and spread to other parts of the body. Septic shock caused by urosepsis is a systemic infection that is the result of unresolved bacteria that could lead to death (Lewis et al., 2014). More complications can range from acute respiratory distress syndrome, recurrent or chronic pyelonephritis, and to chronic kidney disease that can be a factor in scarring that is caused by recurrent infections. Renal scars that lead to chronic kidney disease are generally caused when there is already something abnormal about the anatomic or functional urinary tract. In this case acute pyelonephritis can quickly lead to chronic kidney disease.…

This paper uses the information obtained from four peer reviewed articles about the importins of an abdominal CT scan for the diagnoses of diverticulitis. The paper goes into detail about the features of CT and its ability to accurately demonstrate the bowel wall as well as the surrounding soft tissues structures. It goes in to further detail in explaining the cause, symptoms, and preventative measure for diverticulitis. This paper also focuses on the possibility of other imaging modalities like MRI being able to diagnose diverticulitis in comparison to CT. This is due to diverticulitis having a high recurrence rate and it is not uncommon for a patient with diverticulitis to undergo numerous scans over a given period of time drastically increasing…
“Within the first 24 hours the pain shifts to the right lower quadrant of the abdomen” (Huether & McCrance, 2017). When assessing the patient, it is important to still conduct a head to toe assessment regardless of a medical diagnosis of appendicitis. Once the nurse gets to the abdomen, it is important to listen to bowel sounds and to palpate lightly in the four quadrants of the stomach, noting any temperature change, pain, discoloration, or masses of the stomach. During this time the patient could also rate the pain during palpation to indicate if the area of pain worsens with palpation.…
