What interests me the most about Applied Physiology and Kinesiology fitness and wellness is how I can learn to apply what I study to what I do in football at the University of Florida and then later teach others through my experience with football and my education in Physiology and Kinesiology. When I started playing football there was a coach who had a master’s degree in Physical Education, and he taught me how to make the most efficient movements to achieve my role on the team. His ability to break down a complex motion into simple parts was so effective method to teach football to a kid who was too tall and clumsy was genius. Once I have my degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology I will also have a minor in business. After both are finished I will continue my education with graduate school. I find that helping someone, especially children, in any way I can to be truly fulfilling. I find Lab research and design to be very appealing, being able to indirectly help thousands through medical research is something I have always thought of doing. As second option I always have found Physical Training to be a rewarding field. Personally I have been receiving physical treatment for over 7 years throughout my athletic career.

As a Student-Athlete it can be hard to find volunteer opportunities that fit with my alternative hours, but I do not find this an excuse, but yet opportunity to give back to those who do not have the opportunities that I do. The past three years I have been joining several hundred of my Student-Athletes at “The climb for Cancer”. At this event we join hundreds of young children and teens who have been diagnosed with cancer and provide them a chance to take turns trying out each sport and not only learning the game but teaching teamwork and inclusion.
