In doing so this essay will argue that there is a relationship between transnationalism and climate change (i.e. climate change has no borders and thus effects everywhere), so the Arctic countries must with the non-Arctic countries to combat climate change. To strengthen this argument this essay will be divided into three sections: In the first section, I will examine what the Arctic Council is, how it functions, and some of the history behind the Arctic Council. In the second section, I will examine the Arctic Climate Impact Assessment, and how it has changed the way many countries think about the Arctic and climate change. In the third section, I will examine how climate change is affecting the Arctic, and also how these consequences affect the ecosystems not just in the Arctic but within the rest of the world, and what all of this means for the rest of the world.
