The bias against women force them to suffer with the frustration of preforming identical, maybe even more complex, tasks than men without the contentment of being properly compensated. Furthermore affecting their motivation and instigating the deterioration of their self image, self worth, and self esteem.
Women that manage to secure a job within a powerful corporation encounter many impediments to be further promoted. The uncomfortable and unprincipled measures that some women feel they must complete threaten their job, respect of others, and respect for themselves. An article derived from Business Insider called, "15% Of Women Have Slept With Their Bosses -- And 37% Of Them Got Promoted For It," elaborates on the statistical reality of the immoral allotments that both women and men plunge into (2). Granted, there are some people in this world that are austerely hedonistic, but I'm speaking more towards the women that are being unrighteously discouraged and towards the men that are exhibiting signs of sexism. Women should not have to result to sexual favors in order to make a name for themselves in the industry that they operate in. The process of climbing the ladder of promotions within a company varies tremendously among men and women. Men seem to have the most uniform processes of working their way to the top. I am fighting against the entitled men of certain organizations that inflict this act of sexism. I am also fighting against the corporations that allow this to happen and refuse to pay their employees on the basis of the work they accomplish and the qualifications they obtain. The means to abolish this problem include passing more laws to publicize the problem and get people to want to change the current status of unequal pay.
