There is an issue growing in popularity that debates whether universal healthcare should be practiced in the United States. Many editorials have expressed their opinions using argumentations, counterarguments, and rhetorical appeals. They also use evidence to support their claims and reasons to why they are of the opinion that universal healthcare should be practiced or banned. As each editorial is commencing, the editorial banning universal healthcare is more effective.…
I am now going to go through all the facts of this case and my come to my own conclusion. The plaintiff, Big M Drug Mart violated the Lord’s Day Act and challenged the law. The plaintiff claim that the act violated section 2a because the act forced all peoples of Canada to participate in a Christian tradition when the charter states that all Canadians have the freedom of religion. Not only that the Lord’s Day Act was stated to have no valid purpose other than to protect the sanctity of the Christian Sunday sabbath. Also section 27 enforces multiculturalism and thus only celebrating a Christian tradition violates this as well.…
For my category four, I created a argumentative essay on the misuse of prescription drugs. I give examples in each paragraph and summed everything up. At first I wanted to have an essay talk about three bad effects of prescription drugs. Then I would break each paragraph down and make a category about each of the individual projects. Yet, I did have that goal in the end, but changed it a little bit.…
The first thing to take into account is the fact that healthcare accounts for approximately 6% of the U.S. economy. The Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare, or other unsavory names is actually in my mind making the medical field and the availability of care for patients more difficult. Regardless of its benefits to some patients, the Obamacare is making things much more difficult for doctors, nurses and anyone in medicine. It has done nothing but increase paperwork and costs, and has done nothing to increase the quality of care.…
My brother is in Pre-K and before school started his teacher made my parents pay three dollars for a party he was going to have in November. In Pre-K they have two classes: the am and the pm class. The kids in the am class aren't having a party because it's too early in the day for one. Even though the kids in the am class can't participate in the class party they're still required to pay the three dollars. If the kids in the am class want to take part in the party, they must stay for the pm class.…
The Affordable Care Act, or Obama Care, is a law signed and passed in 2010 by President Barack Obama. It was passed because it is supposed to help with the cost, accessibility, and overall quality of health care insurance like Medicaid, Medicare, CHIP, etc. However, anyone who doesn't have insurance by 2014 will have to pay a fee and are all but being told that they have to have to choose from a private insurance with higher prices. ("ObamaCare Explained: An Explanation of ObamaCare") Initially, the Affordable Care Act was meant to help with the cost of insurance.…
Obamacare has recently become a poison to the American people like a TV ad. Americans have signed up for this “healthcare program” without reading the fine print. They do not realize that Obamacare does not really give people healthcare. It actually taxes people who do not have insurance. Although Americans have signed up for Obamacare, Obamacare has actually crippled the U.S. healthcare system.…
In any country people are going to have different opinions on how things are run. In America, since our country is one where you are free to voice your opinion, it seems that the disagreements never stop. Particularly for one thing: our nation's healthcare. Barack Obama, our forty fourth president proposed a new health care act, The Affordable Care Act or “Obamacare” shortly after he became elected. An act that congress said they will read after they pass it, an act that some say was passed illegally.…
Health care reform is one of the most controversial topics in the United States because so many people in the country cannot afford health care or may not have the right amount of coverage for certain conditions. The health care system is flawed in that it produces financial and political displeasure in Americans because of expensive plans and rejection of Medicaid expansion to politically break the Affordable Care Act (“ObamaCare”). Health care reform would be a positive change in this country because it will improve the issues of unreliable health insurance plans, the absence of healthcare awareness educators, and expensive healthcare for seniors. By the year 2015, it will be mandatory that all citizens of the United States have health insurance…
The young couple , Jon and Maria , are running behind on the house bills for paying for medical bills because of their 10 year old son having a leg injury . Bills started to pile up left and right , collecting dust and have “urgent” on top of them in large font . On Sunday evening , they go a knock on the door from the sheriff . “You are being evicted because of failure to pay the rent” the sheriff said. “ NO PLEASE !!!…
Healthcare should be free because some people can not pay for a visit. Someone can be really ill and need a trip to the doctors but it is expensive to pay for it. There are times i’ve seen where adults and/or children have been in car accidents and those people result in being hurt. It is not those people’s fault that someone else caused an accident and so therefore there should be healthcare for those type of people who aren’t really the cause of an injury. If people have and can afford health care then those people have a better chance to be living their lives healthier knowing that they get checked up and there is really nothing to worry about.…
Over the years, the idea about legalizing drugs has always been a discussion. Although we use the general term, there was no specific type of “drug” mentioned in these arguments. It is obvious that some are more harmful than others, but overall, each drug could be as addicting than any other. There are many different drugs that have different effects. In my opinion, man-made stimulant drugs seem to cause more harm to their users more than “natural” drugs such as cannabis.…
The argument on whether drugs should be legalized has been going on for so long now. Some people say as an Americans we have the right to choose whether we want to do drugs or not. It is really hard to control the consumption of drugs, because people are going to do them whether they are legal or illegal. Other people say that the laws that are being enforced now are good to control drugs. “There will also be more unpublicized fatal and maiming crashes, more job accidents, more child neglect, more of everything associated with substance abuse”(M. Kendrecke).…
One important problem that has been rapidly increasing among our society today is drug addiction. The earlier in an individual’s life that drug abuse begins, the more likely they will be to become addicted. Substance use in teens and young adults turns into a pattern of unsafe behaviors, including; unsafe sex, driving under the influence, etc. Taking drugs lessens the feeling of distress and most people abuse. Drug addiction can set back the user from achieving their goals, it’s important to make wise decisions to have a successful future.…
Major companies in many different sectors all support, and spend money lobbying for, the continued criminalization of drugs. The continued criminalization of drugs is critical to the drug war, and includes strict punishments and sentences for those convicted of crimes involving drugs. It has been shown that groups such as private prisons, and prison guard unions lobby for strict punishments to increase incarceration, and reap the profits. These company’s contributions promote the war on drugs, by giving the state no incentive to scale back their policies. What many fail to realize, however, is the impact the war on drugs and subsequent policies has internationally.…
