Low color temperatures are warmer colors, such as yellows and reds. High color temperatures, are cooler lighter colors such as light blue. Color temperatures are often used. A good example of Color Temperature, is in the 2009 movie Avatar directed by, James Cameron. The Movie Avatar takes place in two different worlds, one world being Pandora, with fictional characters called avatars, the other world being, our world. James Cameron does a good job of making the two worlds distinctively different. Pandora has very bright vibrant colors, whereas our world is very gray and gloomy. The colors that are used in Pandora, are mostly high color temperatures the director uses a lot of blues and purples. Although high colors are dominant in this film warm colors are used as well. The coloring in the movie is off white almost yellow. Contrast is used for the underwater scenes of Titanic, when they discovered the ship. The lighting is very low with a blue tint, to show that they are underwater. Contrast is also used to show the difference between the young Rose, and the older one. The young Rose is very well light her skin is glowing and she wears bright color clothes. Where as the older Rose is very pale and wears all white.
