“Nigger - Lover” is a term that doesn’t mean “snot nose.” As noted in today's society, the “N word” is a very divisive word. The “N-word” should be allowed in a contexts manner in schools, in certain ethnic groups, and in Pop Culture.
Students need to be challenged by being able to read literature with words that are historically accurate. According to Leonard Pitts Jr’s article, “Don’t censor Mark Twain’s N-word,” “It is never a good idea to sugarcoat the past” (1). If educators sugar-coat the past, students will casually use the word without knowing the full force that it has on people. Stars use it differently, nonstars, writers. Stars use the “ N word” while they're in movies because if they didn't it probably wouldn't sound the same. You can't help what a director puts in his music because he has that freedom of speech. If they even planned to ban the “ N word” from movies, music etc. Would it even be the same? Will the world change them take out the “N word”? Is that going to change racism and killings? It wouldn't change a thing, life would still be the same, and people in the world will still use the word. You want except the “ N word” to be out of everyone's vocabulary when people use it every day. The “N word” should be allowed in music and television and movies and even on signs, it's been around for way too long. If they decided to censor the “N word” in the books it wouldn't be as interesting to others. If removing the book can make everything better, then go “knock yourself out”. Most of the people in the industry use it definitely anyway everyone isn't using it in a disrespectful way.
