My interest in family medicine was heightened by my experiences in medical school and at home. I left home to attend medical school abroad to reach my aspirations of becoming a physician. I had a unique opportunity to learn how medicine was conducted in the Caribbean and apply it in my clinical rotations to better my skills. This experience allowed me to grow and mature personally and professionally as well as providing me with an outstanding solid medical education. I was inspired by physicians whom I was fortunate enough to work with. Their patience, diligence, and dedication to their patients were admirable and I learned the special importance of interpersonal skills and doctor patient interaction.
