Gozzoli was born around the year 1421 in a village in Italy called Sant’llaria a Colombano. His birth name was Benozzo di Lese. In 1427 he and his family moved to Florence, Italy. For instance, his paintings would not exist. Some may ask why this is a big deal. This is a big deal because if it wasn’t for his paintings, people wouldn’t visit Florence, Italy for the Magi Chapel. Consequently, there would be a lot less people there on average for vacation. There are many students who travel to Florence to study Benozzo Gozzoli’s paintings and his life as he was born in Florence so that would mean even less people traveling to Florence. Also if you take away his artwork, Florence wouldn’t have as much history and culture as it does today. If everyone thinks Florence doesn’t have history or culture, than even less people would go and no one would want to live there. Therefore, Florence would be just like any other city and not one that people travel from miles away to get to.
Another way life would be different without Benozzo Gozzoli is that art as we know it would be different. There are artists that are inspired by Gozzoli artwork and without him to inspire them there wouldn’t be as much paintings or art in general.
