Law enforcement officers that operate with a biblical worldview understand that right and wrong are not relative, but are based on an absolute standard. A moral is defined as what is “considered right and good by most people” (Merriam-webster). However, for those who have a biblical worldview, this definition is contrary to Scripture. James 4:17 states, “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” On the other hand culture seems to have a strong hold on how people view right and wrong. Culture is defined as “what you and others together make of the world” (Biblical Worldview). For those that do not have a biblical worldview, morals change. Their morals change when culture changes. A recent example of this would be the topic of gay marriage. It was not until June 26, 2015 that gay marriage was legalized. Years ago a person could be beaten and killed for being gay. But in recent years, being gay has become accepted. However, anyone operating under a biblical worldview understands that engaging in homosexuality is a sin.
