Have you ever heard of Bobby Fischer? He was one of the best chess players of all time. He was born march 9th, 1943 in Chicago Illinois. This is how fischer learned to play the game. Is when Fischer and his sister bought a book about chess at a candy store. When his sister lost interest in the game of chess, fischer played against himself. In 1956 he attended Heathwren Chess Club. In 1959 his student council awarded him a gold medal for his chess achievements. At age 14 he played the game of the century vs Donald Brian. He eventually became the youngest grand master of his time at the mindblowing age 15. At age 20 fischer won the 64th US chess championship with the perfect score 11/11. In 1970 he won the interzonal chess tournament, he won by 3 ½ points with a few 6-0 streaks. 1971 he was first in the world. In 1972 he grasped the world championship from Boris Spassky after losing number one in the world. he completely and totally disappeared from the world's eye but he was not done. He rematched Spassky in 1992 for the huge prize at 5 million dollars, bobby fischer won that game, but then he had a conflict with the USA and iceland accepted him as a citizen. He married Miyoko Watai in 2004. Bobby Fischer died in 2008. To me it’s kind of sad that he was only married for 4 years. Miyoko Watai was an international master rated 2032. Bobby Fischer rating was 2785.
