Energy cannot be destroyed or created it can only be transferred in to different types of energy like kinetic, heat, light, electrical, chemical, elastic potential, gravitational potential, thermal, nuclear and sound energy. When calculating energy, you would work in measurement like joules, kilojoules and millijoules. There are many types of energy like kinetic energy which is when a object is moving like a car driving and ball being thrown and a riding a bike. Sound energy is when an object conducts a type of sound like singing, screaming, shouting, playing music from a speaker. Heat energy is made up of little particles and the faster they move the hotter the …show more content…
Measured how high the ball bounced each measurement three time in a row for each height. Then we added them up then divided by three and that was the average height, then we would divide the rebound height by the average then times by one hundred then that was the energy efficiency.
Research question: does the height that a ball is dropped from affect its rebound height and energy efficiency?
Aim:
The purpose of this experiment was to see how high a ball when you drop it of at different heights as well as the efficiency and to see the different types of energy before and after you drop it like heat and sound when it would hit the ground.
Hypothesis:
I predict when doing this experiment that the higher we drop the ball from, the higher the ball will bounce to, because more potential energy is gained as well as when I drop it, it will gain kinetic and loose G. P. E.
Materials:
2 one metre rulers
One rubber bouncy ball
One black pen (to write our results each time)
One A4 paper (to write our results on each time)
Phone (to record each results each time so they were
