During a trial, it is important not to turn our head towards the stimulus being presented. Furthermore, we also advise not to move our right eyes and only stay focused on the given fixation point at the middle. If we did not follow these instructions, it may affect the location of the blind spot relative to screen.

There exists a “hole”, called optic disk which no sensitive light receptors. This is a location where we called it as blind spot. This is because when a light falls at this area, it becomes invisible for us.
Most of us never noticed the blind spot due to some reasons. The human brain only processed the presence information and not the absence one. The brain has no idea about the missing knowledge and thus does not notice the “hole” in the information receive from the eyes. Other than that, the blind spot is far from the fovea so we would not notice that there is something disappeared into the blind spot. The last reason is most of us use both eyes to see things, so one eye can compensate for the other eye’s blind spot. Usually, the light falls at blind spot of one eye will not fall on blind spot of another. The purpose of this experiment is that it is possible for us to identify and map the blind spot of our eyes. From the demonstrations of the existence of blind spot, we would probably surprise at how large is the blind spot because it covers a large part of the visual field. If we move our head around, our blind spot will move too and the data might be a mixing of two positions we …show more content…
