The article uses the idea of the IMRAD structure which stands for introduction, methods, results, and discussion; however, the structure is slightly out of order. The first paragraph represents the abstract, but the articles do not specifically address the paragraph as the abstract. Nevertheless, after reading the paragraph anyone would be able to tell it is the abstract because it summarizes the entire article in a short paragraph. The next section is the introduction which also does not specify that it is the introduction; however, the individual will still be able to tell it is the introduction because of the content in the section. The introduction uses the rhetorical moves by starting off broadly. It then puts into context of what is already known and mentions the gap in the research. Lastly, the introduction then presents the current research. Therefore, the reader will know this section is the introduction. After the introduction is the results section. The article will go into further depth on how they conducted their surveys and what the learned about the subject they are studying. The main subject in the article is the Burmese python, specifically it is the effect of the Burmese Python in The Everglades National Park.
