The one problem that she needed to work on was her nervousness. You could tell that she was uneasy based on the amount of times you could hear her catching her breath. Good preparation helps to make nervousness go away.
Lastly, as a whole, the presentation was great in which I learned a couple of new tips for public speaking. Through Russel’s speech, she helped me understand that I don’t have to worry about my appearance as much. In her presentation I learned that you can really engage the audience when you use your own life experiences. Also, you can do something at the beginning of the speech to break the ice with the audience, which will relieve some of the tension between the speaker and the listeners. I also learned that practicing the speech before you deliver it can reduce taking as many breaths due to nervousness.
In conclusion, Cameron Russel’s speech was very organized, she had spoken in a formal manner, and she was successful in the way that she spoke. She also presented her slide show to help demonstrate some of her thoughts along with helping the audience relate to what she was trying to say.
