Although not far off, these differences are apparent and manifest themselves in many ways. One of the most obvious differences between these two nations is their government structure. Canada has two executives, the Prime Minister and the Head of State, which is the Monarch of the United Kingdom. Whereas in America there is one executive –the President. The Prime Minister of Canada is a member of the legislature, unlike the American President. Also, Canadian legislature has sovereignty over the constitution, meaning that the judicial and legislative branches both exist inside of the legislature and thus there is no separation of powers as there is in the United States.
