Glenn Curtiss, was a one of the pioneer in the field of aviation. He achieved remarkable accomplishments in his life. He loved the field of mechanic's and started as an engine maker for bicycle but his passion was so high that he became an aircraft maker. Curtiss, was the man, who took first officially documented flight. At the time when nobody was ready to take a flight from Albany to Manhattan, Curtiss, accepted the challenge and won a prized of 10,000 dollars. His life was full of challenges but he never stops and tried his best to solve the problems and move forward.
I. Summary
In 1878, Glenn Curtiss, born in Hammondsport, New York. He was a genius and was ambitious about the field of mechanics. He started his career by building engine for bicycle because he was bicycle racer. In 1904, he started his aviation career by building engines for airships. Within short time he produced his name in the field of aviation. The first official documented fight was conducted by Curtiss and he conducted some long distance Trans-Atlantic flights. He faced a lot of challenges in his way one of them was patent issue with Wright Brother Company. Due to patent issue, he paid his worker from his pocket. He paid 10,000 dollars bond which led him towards bankruptcy, Curtiss, have no option, so he accepted the challenge to fly from Albany to Manhattan and won a prized of 10,000 dollars. Problem
Glenn Curtiss, was fully involved in the aviation industry but in 1910, US. Federal court, issued an injunction against Glenn Curtiss due to Wright brothers patent. So, problem was that Curtiss, can’t continue to exhibit or manufacture any aircraft unless he a license. “Curtiss was legally prohibited from manufacturing or even exhibiting his aircraft in the United States without a license from the Wrights” (Shulman,
