FMC has set forth clear rules to address this necessity. FMC Code of Conduct stipulates that gifts should not be in the form of cash or anything convertible to cash. Acceptable gifts are those suitable for display in the recipient’s place of business, embossed with “FMC” logo, or samples of FMC products for promotion.
Facilitation Payments: FMC treats any payment to a government official for the purpose of obtaining or retaining business for the company as a violation, and prohibits such payments. While U.S laws permit facilitation payments to a government officials, FMC’s policies do not. Any exception to this rule must be pre-approved by the VP of the business group and the corporate General Counsel. FMC has stringent reporting procedures and approval process for any expense involved in the form of gifts and exception described above.
Shortcomings observed: FMC is not involved in any societal initiatives, either nationally or internationally, to eliminate corruption or
