There is a wide range of child- care providers available. Ranging from professionals to parents taking care of their children. Child care that is high quality involves a safe environment for the children, age appropriate toys, age appropriate activities and time spent with children on an individual basis. Benefits of a stay at home parent they are able to have full attention of their child and watch them develop. There are two types of day care Family child care homes and child care centers. Bratsch-Hines, Mokrova, and Vernon-Feagans (2014) explained that there are three aspects of non- parent child care that have been linked to social development. Those include quality of care, quantity of care and the type of care. Also the instability of child care can effect social development of the child, meaning changing of child care settings. The purpose of the study was to see whether child care instability in children ages 6 to 36 months would change their social development. The found there is a link between the high levels of care giver instability and child social development. Over half of the children in the same experienced at least one change in care givers. Stability of the enviorment, care givers and peers makes children experience less stress.
