Equity and Access concerns play a major role in your own sporting individual life. Factors have been used to organise five groups according to Peter Figueroa. He has developed this framework to assist the study into the sport society. These participations is ultimately successful in any sport depended on these ranges of factors.
These five groups being:
Cultural
Structural
Individual
Interpersonal and;
Institutional

It is better known as Figueroa’s framework. Figueroa’s Framework has been constructed to show five separate levels, which are: individual, interpersonal, institutional, structural and cultural. These specific areas are used to investigate the ways in which inequities challenge the area of sport and physical activity. Each level that is contained within Figueroa’s framework connects with the other levels in which they all contribute to shape their overall joint effect. Figueroa’s Framework can show the differences of functions that reinforce, create, remove and eliminate barriers and inequities within sport and physical activity. Equity pertains to the equal distribution of resources among members of society. Access is concerned with barriers in place that hinder the distribution of resources and affect participation. Equity and access issues may be discussed in reference to Figueroa’s Framework. Equity and access allow people to socialise through the use of their sport. 3.3.1 Barriers and Enhancers towards Swimming
The barriers towards swimming at FLSHS are that most students don’t enjoy the sport mostly because they haven’t done it before as the school only provides a swimming carnival once every year which only a low percentage attends, there are classes that provide swimming to HPE extension students and years 11-12 only and some students suffer from paranoia about their body image. However some ways to enhance the attendance to swimming carnivals are to provide swimming lessons to core 10 HPE classes so they can experience how enjoyable, healthy and social the sport is. Another enhancer; while the students have a swimming class, is to separate the students who know how to swim and the students who don’t know how to swim, so that the students who don’t know how to swim, don’t feel embarrassed and intimidated by the students who do know how to
