Her and I may seem very similar, yet the beliefs we were raised around are very different. Cara was brought up around the Jewish faith, and I around Christianity. The two religions have many similarities, but also are very different, which made this an interesting and intriguing topic of discussion. The way that I gathered my information was through a case study. A case study observation uses question and answer technique to burrow into someone’s beliefs and principles on a given topic. Case studies give the opportunity to learn many new ideas and concepts. These new ideas and concepts can be applied in later observations. Among case studies, there are also surveys and naturalistic observations. A survey involves asking a larger group of people a series of questions about their opinions. There is usually a target age group or specific type of person that the observers are looking for depending on what they are studying. Using a survey has several disadvantages such as, participants lacking motivation to provide honest answers, being as their responses are completely anonymous. Another downside to using a survey is that data can be unclear if one respondent interprets a question differently than someone else who is responding will interpret it. On the other hand, a naturalistic observation is another method to gather information. A naturalistic observation would be completed by observing a single person or group of people without them knowing that you’re observing. For example, sitting in the food court at the mall for a day and taking very detailed notes about what happens over the course of the day. The cons to this method are that the observer has no control over outside forces, which could easily offset the data being gathered. This type of observation can also take a very long time to complete depending on what data is being gathered. I chose to do a case study because of the
