Christianity Vs. Islam There are over four thousand religions throughout the world, some practice monotheism and polytheism. Monotheism is the believing in one god and polytheism is the believing in multiple gods. Out of these four thousand and some religions, Christianity and Islam are the largest in the world and both practice monotheism. First, both Christianity and Islam believe that there is only one god and that he is the Creator and the Sustainer of the universe(discoveringislam). Second, they believe that God sent prophets such as Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, John the Baptist, Jesus, etc,. Third, people should follow the Ten Commandments and the moral teachings of the prophets. Fourth, Mary was a virgin; therefore Jesus was born miraculously. Fifth, Jesus Christ was a Messiah and could perform miracles. Sixth, the Old Testament and the New Testament are holy scriptures. Seventh, Satan is evil and people should not follow him. Eighth, an Anti-Christ will appear on Earth before the Day of Judgement. Ninth, Jesus Christ will return from Heaven and kill the Anti-Christ. This means that God has three forms (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Most Christians believe in the Trinity, although some do not(discoveringislam). Trinity is totally rejected in the Islamic religion, Jesus Christ was a human prophet and not divine(discoveringislam). Christians worship Jesus Christ and the angels. Muslims do not believe that Jesus Christ should be worshiped, because everyone is like him in the sense of being a son/daughter of God. They also do not believe that angels should be worshiped because they are created by God and are not divine(discoveringislam).
The second main difference is Jesus’s death on the cross. The Quran states that Jesus did not die on the cross, but God made it appear that way to people(discoveringislam). The Quran also states that Jesus was ascended to Heaven by God(discoveringislam). Most Christians today insist Jesus was crucified and died on the cross, but two days later was
