As people are getting more engaged in jobs which demands continuous sitting in office or in front of a screen, they are quickly becoming a house of a range of health problems and diseases even at a younger age. Medically it is known as Repetitive Stress Injury i.e. health issues because of your profession. As I am an IT Professional, I am surrounded with people complaining about Back Pain or Low Backache, Neck injuries or on the more critical side Slip-disk (ailment of Vertebral Column) and Spondylosis.
Fundamentally, there are three key factors which are responsible for this issue, a) The Posture b) The distance and Level and c) Lack of Motion and repetition (the body movement)

In I-Chair, pressure sensors will be placed in specific parts of the chair.
The pressure reading is our data. Data will be uploaded on cloud when the I-Chair is in vicinity of network connectivity.
USABILITY
The usability of I-Chair can be divided in three levels. The beauty of this concept is that, there is no Inter-Level Dependency among the features, you can enjoy all of the features simultaneously. These are as follows:
LEVEL 1 (LOW LEVEL)
Scientifically, sitting exerts 40% more stress on spine as compared to standing position, that’s why it is advised that we should not sit more than 30-40 minutes in a stretch. I-Chair will trigger a reminder to get up from chair, by providing relief to your back and neck after intervals reduces the risk of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Repetitive Stress Injury. Initially there will be two features in Level 1:
a) Break reminder : an alert to remind the user about taking a break, do some simple exercise like stretching of hands, neck, back etc.
b) Automatic Chair Height and Level Adjustment : the chair will adjust its height and level as per the physique of user.

Though the idea of I-Chair is simple (taking and uploading pressure reading), but it will open doors for Innovation, Research and Entrepreneurial advances. Data provided by I-Chair can be used for wide range of applications and studies. Examples are as follows:
a) Psycho-analysis : as the uploaded data is personalized, it can be used to analyze and determine the state of mind of the user, profiling, diagnosis of sleeping disorders, anxiety, depression etc.
b) E-Commerce : personalized data can be used for user-specific or targeted advertisement by companies. For example: If Amazon has information about user’s sitting timings, level of alertness at certain time; it can increase the sales by flashing offers and sale advertisements when the user is in cheery mood or level of alertness is high.
c) Health Sector : data can reveal emergence of unknown or hidden injuries of back and neck, signs of obesity, posture related disorders etc. Analysis can be forwarded to Spine or Neck specialists /doctors for immediate action and
