This past election really revealed this issue for the United States. Many people did not want to vote for the President position for a lack of incentives or an ignorance towards politics in America. It has always been noted that the Electoral College is the deciding factor in choosing the next president for the country. This has been an issue for many officials who are either trying to be elected or re-elected. This problem goes beyond voting for the president as well. It has been a problem for voting for local officials. People do not really hear about the elections that are going on or they simply do not care. The problem of whether or not a citizen’s vote counts really makes a collection action problem hard to figure out and solve by political parties. How can a specific party promise his or her election to the presidency if they aren’t sure how the Electoral College would vote in the popular favor? That is one question that will often be the reason why individuals do not vote in elections. If you stay in the south, it is already assumed that the states will always vote in favor of the Republican Party. It is a guarantee that you will see states like Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Mississippi vote in favor of the Republicans. This creates the collection action problems amongst all voters. There is no incentive to go out and vote for the opposing candidate. How can parties deal with that
