Week 5 of this course discussed the topic of problem solving, the different approaches to being an effective problem solver, and the factors that hurt team problem solving. In order to solve a problem or issue that a team might be struggling with it is very important to first define it, then work with the team to decide on solutions. In my current organization I work directly with four to five managers and indirectly with over a dozen more. Very often I work closely with a small group of managers to create and develop strategic plans for our specific department. On occasion, while we are developing theses plans we run into a roadblock that needs to be resolved. The next step in problem solving is making sure the entire team agrees on what the problem is. Thorough this course I have learned that different people can perceive ethics differently and that there is a fine line between ethics and morality. The core values that my organization follows are very important, this course has taught me about other ways to be ethical in a professional organization. One important ethical practice is to be reliable. Reliability means coming to work on time, time-managing time and prioritizing, meeting deadlines, and doing the work that I say that I am going to do. It is also professionally ethical to be responsible. Failure to be responsible in my organization will lead to termination. Many professional organizations require that their employees dress professionally, act professionally, and treat others with respect. This creates a workplace that is comfortable and easily manageable. As a manager in my organization there are times that I must request that my staff review the dress code policy and evaluate the clothing that they have chosen for the day. Because I work on a busy sales floor I have to evaluate cell phone, and social media etiquette. It is important
