It could have been described as being more divided than even Europe was. In China the communist were under the rule of Mao Zedong, and the nationalist were under the rule of Chiang Kai Shek. By 1994 the communist had taken the mainland and left the nationalist with Tiawain. Many of the other communist countries would help the communist China by equipping them with artillery and ammunition. In a speech given by John Foster he exclaims, “They are supplied with artillery and ammunition through the Soviet-Chinese communist bloc... much of it was fabricated by the Skoda Munition Works in Czechoslovakia and transporter across Russia and Siberia and then sent to China into Vietnam.” Then in Korea, Soviet Union controlled everything North of 38th parallel. Along with that, North Korea was under the rule of Kim II Sung and the South was under Sigmond Rhee. These two parts of korea were in such conflict that they had a line that could not be crossed, and if it was crossed it got violent. In the Korean War Armistice it states, “A Demilitarized Zone shall be established as a buffer zone to prevent the occurrence of incidents which might lead to a resumption of hostilities.” As far as communism and Vietnam it was very bad. In Europe, Truman implemented the Marshall plan and the Truman Doctrine which both gave financial aid to the countries in Europe fighting communism. Additionally, in Asia, America tried to provide assistance by strengthening the military in the countries having to fight communism. America also provided assistance to Latin America. This was done by trying to help Cuba fight Fidel Castro with the Bay of Pigs invasion which was a fail, however they also used another defense policy which strengthened the military forces in Latin America.
