One way that the college experience surpasses the high school experience is that students have more class options. In high school, students live with their parents and follow strict house rules such as curfew. Whereas in college students have more freedom and the ability to stay out later with no parental control. This allows college students to become more social and spark up new friendships, which can be as simple as their roommate. At college, students benefit from having a roommate because this teaches them professionally get along with one another, and possibly make a lifelong friend. In addition to more freedom with dorming, students also have more responsibility. High school students don’t have to pay bills because they live with their parents, which usually pay for everything. While, college students have to be responsible and pay their own bills and taxes. This develops them to learn real world experiences which is why the college experience is superior. Students have to learn to manage their “…time and bank account and adapt to being in control of [their] own actions” (“8 Reasons Why College Is Better”). This experiences prepares them for their future whereas living with their parents doesn’t provide any
