He spoke of 5 conscious ways we can do this every day or multiple times a day. One way is to be silent for 3 mins, two is the mixer, process of mean sounds do/or are you hearing, three is savoring the mundane sounds you hear, four it your listening positions which he broke down into three things active/ passive, reductive/ expansive, critical/empathetic and the five is an acronym called RASA which means Receive, Appreciate, Summarise, Ask. Live to listen was a saying he made which means listen conceptually in order to live fully. In this time of the world around us to understand and spirtuarly listening around us are also important now more than ever.
In conclusion, I feel I must agree with his statement of we need to teach our children in school to listen more effectively than we did have to this point I know from past experiences I wish at times I listened better than I do now. Sound or sounds are something we will never get away from. It’s part of our core existence as humane beings. Stop and listen better in the future is what not only myself needs to improve on but I felt we all must listen effectively in order to understand each other as the diverse individuals we all are. I definitely have learned to hear things better now for me
