Conservatism is a political ideology that values the creation and conserves stable societies which is often based upon a scale of power lodged in a traditional class of leaders. Conservatism also has deep respect for traditional values and organizations. Subsequently, conservatives believe that communities can provide a formation for the natural change. They believe it should be a way of progress. Furthermore, individuals views and perspective on wide range of issues are often influenced or determined by the kind of beliefs they hold ( Liberalism and Conservatism). Absolutely not, he is neither a a conservative or a liberal. For instance, Donald Trump exists as a speculative derivative of his own economic successes and of course his failures in the past. Donald Trump appears to be a political hermaphrodite. The terms Liberal and Conservative illustrates the degree of beliefs and intentions, but one cannot measure Donald Trumps views and ideas to both these terms. In addition, conservatives believe in the constitution and supports the idea of limiting the federal government, but it is clearly seen through Donald Trump’s previous speeches he has never mentioned the constitution. Furthermore, One conservative thinker which proves to why D onald Trump is neither a conservative or a liberal is none other than Freidrich Hayek. Hayek was born in Vienna in 1899 and was known as a neo-liberalism. Neo-Liberalism is ideally conservative politicians who despise liberals. In other words, it is modified form of liberalism. It also tends to favor free-market capitalism and is associated with laissez-faire liberalism. Furthermore, Fredrick Hayek’s core concepts are individualism, competition, private property, freedom , equality and lastly security. Hayek explains each of his core concepts in “ The Road to Serfdom with The Intellectuals and Socialism”. Oakeshott was born in 1901 as a British political theorists and taught at Oxford University and was known as the leading conservative thinker of the 20th century. In Oakeshott’s famous 1956 essay “On being conservative” he states how Conservatism is a certain disposition toward change and how conservatism is a certain disposition toward change. In page 177 and 175 he states, “Conservative” disposition as “an intelligible & plausible alternative to our mainly “progressive” disposition and believes that being conservative is modeled after the experience of friendship. Oakeshott explains the forms of ideology as corruptions of the complex human experience. Furthermore, In his essay Oakeshott explains and demonstrates to what he regarded as the conservative disposition. For instance, Oakeshott states ”To be conservative ... is to prefer the familiar to the unknown, to prefer the tried to the untried, fact to mystery, the actual to the possible, the limited to the unbounded, the near to the distant, the sufficient to the superabundant, the convenient to the perfect, present laughter to utopian
