One of them arose in 1993, according to studies provided by the web page of globalcoralbleaching.org where a heat epidemic reaps with 16% of the corals in the world. The possible causes are the currents of "El Nino" and apparently that was the beginning of the problem that runs in the corals. Another of the investigations of the same way was provoking by "El Nino" where this event was annulled by institute of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric of EE.UU in 2015. This event was unique since it has been used for years by the reefs and was the most extensive to register in the last years. This event has succeeded in affecting several reefs such as coral bleaching in Okinawa (Japan) as well as in Lizard Island among others. All these investigations were conducted by the Ocean Agency / XL Catlin Seaview Survey in September 2016. According to the latest studies conducted by the Agency of the Ocean, 93% of coral discoloration is due to climate change where the oceans aspire to heat causing this problem.
Classification and types of corals:
• Pennatulacea: Its name comes from the similarity of an ancient pen. Each of these types of coral retains small organisms called polyps. The tentacles of the polyps are in charge of storing food and their species are the only ones that can live in places that are lush and sandy.
• The Antipatharia, as well known as …show more content…
To contribute, we must avoid global warming as this causes the water temperature to increase causing the whitening of the corals. That is to say that pollution, smoke, electricity use and all causes of global warming causes this problem in the marine environment. Avoiding global warming can also prevent marine species from dying. This is an important element in the aquatic ecosystem since they are home to thousands of species and because of the benefits that come to the inhabitants of the coastal regions is to say the inhabitants that live near the sea, as it reduces the energy of the waves in situations like storms thus protecting the population. Finally, whitening of corals is a problem that affects the aquatic and terrestrial ecosystem therefore it is important to take into account and be informed so that this problem does not
