Cultural differences – in relations to health and social care setting it is important that health communication programs must be able to locate the cultural and social quality of health care challenges when working with service users from a different cultural background. However, health workers cannot assume that other cultures are ready to submit to their philosophies and belief systems.
To overcome this barrier, it is significant to respect other people’s culture and way of life by learning about the cultural differences among people you work with. Service providers must organize staff training on how to learn cultural differences. As health care worker another strategy to overcome this barrier is to avoid making assumptions about people who are different and contemplate on how to involve advocates who will represent the best interest of others.
