They did it in order to make the reader of the work focused on the experience he or she feel during reading. The vagueness and mystery was always presented in his work and "Ligeia" was one of them. "Ligeia" was written in 1838. It tells the story of bereaved husband who lost his beloved wife and married another woman and witness a horrific scene of the revival of his late wife Ligeia. This paper analyzed Poe's "Ligeia" through specific aspects in the story. The first aspect is the improbable plot which analyzed "Ligeia" plot and events in the work. This aspect focused on the unusual events and actions that contradict logic. The second aspect is subjectivity. Since the work was presented by the narrator subjectivity, thus the critics who analyzed "Ligeia" have divided into two groups. One adapted a psychological explanation of narration and the other was supernatural. The third aspect is unlikely characterization, which analyzed the characters and their features as not representative of humankind.
