The story of Cody from the movie “How to Die in Oregon” made a drastic impact on me emotionally because I saw the pain of suffering in her eyes. Cody had to stop during an interview for the shocks of pain going through her body. Seeing her life day by day made me really understand her struggles as if I were in her shoes which changed my opinion about "Death with Dignity." Cody Curtis was a 54 year old wife and mother of two suffering from liver cancer, and was giving only a few months to live. She played a big role in the movie, “How to Die in Oregon.” Curtis was tired of suffering and dealing with the pain on a daily basis and decided to take the liquid dosage to end her life. Not only did this act help Cody Curtis, it will also help many others dealing with a live threatening illness. Death is a harsh subject but if someone does not take action now we never will. I agree with assisted death because I believe that if one is in pain with no hope of life, they should be able to put an end to their pain and suffering. The matter is not that the people who choose to do this act are giving up; they are just taking control of their own lives before the illness does. No one wants to lose a loved one, but a person can only handle so much pain. Majority of your family and friends will always be the ones to support your decision of ending your own life. Then you will have those who are totally against you saying goodbye just by drinking the liquid substance. Having a supportive family will always help you make a decision. But when you’re told you only have a few months to live, why would your family want you to suffer? Brittany Maynard, a 29-year old terminally ill woman ended her life by choosing the death with dignity act. Not only did she choose this decision, Brittany, along with her mother and husband moved to a home in Oregon just so she had the option of choosing the Death with Dignity Act. Brittany Maynard was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer and was told that she only had six months to enjoy the rest of her life. Brittany was suffering; she dealt with pain daily and knew that ending her own life would be her best interest. Maynard posted on face book for the world to see, "Goodbye to all my dear friends and family that I love. Today is the day I have chosen to pass away with dignity in the face of my terminal illness, this terrible brain cancer that has taken so much from me … but would have taken so much more," she wrote on Face book. "The world is a beautiful place, travel has been my greatest teacher, my
