Cliques thrive with labels. The definition of a clique is a small group of people, with shared interests or other features in common, who spend time together and do not readily allow others to join them. This word came about in 1711 and is from the old french word “cliquer”. There are all kinds of different cliques. For example there are jocks, mathletes, drama geeks, band nerds, slackers, the preppy kids, the popular group, the goths, the gamers, and much more. In the last scene of the movie it shows everyone getting along and the cliques, including the Plastics, have dissolved. Cliques can destroy people. They can destroy personalities and friendships. Each clique is labeled into certain categories. The media is constantly fueling the idea of cliques in movies and in television shows.People let themselves be defined by how many followers they have on social media. When their friend has more followers than they do, they become jealous and desire to gain more
