Heroes persevere through the worst challenges imaginable. While most people will give up if a challenge becomes unbearable, heroes stay that extra mile and fight till they solve the problem. For instance, a letter written to a mother states, “What surprises me, however, is that although I know she is afraid, she fights this lethal disease every moment of everyday, and she does it with a smile” (An Everyday Hero). Ana does not wear a cape and fight crime but she still fights. What makes her extraordinary is she does is with a smile. To illustarte is teachers who make sure even the kids with the lowest grade pass their class by helping them. Another example is, Frederick Douglass escaping to be a free man. Douglass did not escape for only himself, he escaped for future generations.
