In this 2004 volume 11, 4th issue of the leadership journals by the RCIN: nursing management, the authors, Elizabeth Curtis and Honor Curtis have outlined the six levels of efficient delegation in form of a step by step steer for recruits and experienced delegators. The authors, both lecturers at the University of Dublin in Trinity College have also outlined the barriers to efficient delegation (RCNI 1).
This is an important journal as has a detailed introduction about delegation in nursing. It has given the definition of delegation as the assignment of the authority and the responsibility to other people for them to do the specific activities. It gives an explanation about the work that is normally done by the delegates and that delegation is meant to increase the production in a hospital and other organizations. Delegation empowers the subordinates in order to make proper
